Our Services

 

24-hour Crisis Line: Our crisis line 970-356-4226 or toll free 1-866-356-4226 is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Resident Program: A Woman’s Place offers safe shelter to women and their children.  Residents follow a 30 day program that focuses on safety and fostering self-reliance.

 

Case Management: Our staff works with women to achieve self-sufficiency by obtaining housing, utilizing social services and other community agencies, and gaining employment.

 

Counseling - A Woman's Place now provides resident clients and non-resident clients with domestic violence counseling.

 

Educational and Support Services: We offer educational groups for victims of domestic violence. These groups consist of domestic violence education, parenting skills and goals related to self sufficiency.  Safety Planning: Safety if our number one concern.  We will work with all clients to establish a safety plan.

 

Child and Youth Programs: These programs run simultaneously with adult programs, and offer activities to enhance coping skills and address family violence and safety planning.

 

Nonresident Program: Our agency offers all of the above stated programs, minus shelter, to women and children on a nonresident basis.

 

Legal Advocacy: A Woman’s Place can offer assistance to Domestic Violence Victims in obtaining Temporary Civil Protection Orders, and offering support through the Permanent Civil Protection Order proceeding.  We are not attorneys and cannot offer legal advice, but would be happy to offer referrals to local legal resources.

 

We are located in the courthouse on Monday mornings from 8:00am-11:00am, and all other days we are available to meet clients at court from 8:00am-4:00pm by appointment.  Please call 970-351-0476 Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, and ask for a Legal Advocate; or call 970-356-4226 (toll free 1-866-356-4226) after hours or on weekends for information about our Legal Advocacy Program. 

 

Outreach and Community Education:  We are available to come speak with organizations, businesses, church groups, schools, agencies and others about our services, mission and programs, domestic violence, teen dating abuse and how the community can help in preventing domestic violence.  Presentations are available in English and in Spanish. Language Line: This services provides access to interpreters in over 150 languages for individuals with limited English skills.
